How does the custom gown process work?
The first step is a design consultation, where you discuss with Rebekah the kind of garment you're looking for: style, fit, fabrics, timeline, location of your event, budget, and any other important points. Afterward, Rebekah designs several options for your consideration. A personal quote is created that includes the cost of all fabrics and labor. If you decide to go ahead with the quote and design, you send in a half down deposit with a signed contract, and we begin work.
Rebekah then has a measurement session with you to personally draft your pattern. A mockup fitting in a muslin fabric is held to test the fit and style of your chosen pattern. Then your fabrics are cut, sewn, and fitted several times as needed to make sure your gown will fit and move well. All alterations along the way for fitting purposes are included in the total quote; only major design changes from the initial design incur additional charges. At your final fitting, your gown will be inspected to ensure everything is perfect. Rebekah may photograph you at this time with Red Gecko Studio Photography for her own portfolio purposes. Your dress will be pressed and ready to wear when it leaves the studio. Final payment is due at the time of pickup.
