Rebekah made her first wedding gown at age 5 for her doll, and has been hooked on creating special occasion garments ever since. Growing up, she was encouraged to learn how to sew by her grandmothers and mother, who taught her to make her first patterns from paper napkins. At the age of 10, she began taking custom doll dress orders, and by the time she was in high school she was designing and sewing custom prom dresses for all her friends.

She got hooked on costume design while studying theatre at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. There, she earned a BFA in Acting with an emphasis in costume design while working as one of the costume shop's head patternmakers. While interning and stitching with the Santa Fe Opera, it became clear that she was meant for a career in design.

After college, she worked in bridal salons and as a tailor for a prominent menswear retailer; then landed in a custom interiors workroom. With each experience her skills, techniques and methodology blossomed and deepened. Rebekah also began costuming in the Madison area for MATC, the Madison Repertory Theatre, and American Players Theatre, but she always came back to her first love: elegant dresses.
